| Do
you sing? Dance? Recite poetry? Write, direct and act in your
own plays? Then the Rogue Performance Festival wants you.
The second annual festival, which will commandeer the
Sanctuary Stage Theater in downtown Fresno Feb. 28-March 8, is
accepting applications this month and next from artists,
directors, musical acts, performance artists and people
seeking to do odd things on stage in front of paying
audiences.
As it did during its initial run last winter, the festival
will have two stages, one for dramatic performances up to one
hour and the other for more intimate performances of cabaret,
spoken word, puppetry and music.
The festival is nonjuried, so all it takes to guarantee a
slot is to pay the application fee ($210 for three 60-minute
showtimes on the main stage, $25 for two 40-minute showtimes
on the second stage). Performers keep 100% of their shows'
receipts.
Main-stage applications will be accepted beginning Sept.
16. Applications for the smaller stage will be accepted
starting Oct. 16.
An informational meeting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sunday at
the Sanctuary Stage Theater.
