This production of A CHRISTMAS CAROL was billed as a “re-discovery and re-imagining of the original intent of the story.” An original and haunting score for this production was also composed by local musician and teacher Blake Jones.

“Not just another simplistic and pretty transcription for the stage! The Industrial Revolution, when this story is set was hardly a “pretty” time in England. Besides, Charles Dickens did not exactly carve out his career writing about the pretty things or people of his time – his stories were about the lower working classes and their struggle. “

This production employed a stark but very theatrical, impressionistic style to dramatically enhance the original intent of Charles Dickens story.  These included shadow screens as well as an "angulating" Marley. All of his best known characters are in it including some additional characters loosely based on Dickens time and stories to more accurately portray the population and era.

“Upon reading the original, it became evident that it was NOT the “Tiny Tim Story” that many adaptations make it up to be. It is essentially the story of a man discovering his own humanity and compassion during a difficult time for many. It is also a GHOST STORY. One that often has some intense sequences to drive certain points home… as the original did."
